Experience the best of the Cappadocia region on this 3-day tour from Istanbul. With the support of a knowledgeable and professional guide you'll visit the most famous sites, included the famed fairy chimneys in Devrent Valley.

What to Expect

Your tour begins the night before the first full day with a bus ride to Ürgüp.

Day 1 Your first day is spent enjoying a variety of cultural activities. You will walk through the “Fairy Chimneys” in Devrent Valley, Paşabağ (Monks’) Valley and practice pottery production with the ancient technique in Avanos. You will also visit the "open-air museum“ Göreme, home to the earliest churches and chapels carved in fairy chimneys presenting finest examples of frescoes. The day is capped off with a visit to Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region. Dinner is provided at the hotel.

Day 2On your second day you can look forward to panoramic views of the Hospital Monastery. Later you'll walk into the “wonderland” at Kızılçukur (Red Valley) and the village of Çavuşin with rock-cut dwellings. A highlight of the day is a visit to the underground city of Kaymaklı, a rock-cut city beneath the earth up to 8-9 levels where early Christians used to hide from Roman and Byzantine persecution. Later you will explore the rock formations in Çatalkaya and enjoy a fantastic overview of the fairy chimneys from Esentepe. Last stop is Pigeon Valley, home to the greatest collection of pigeon nests in the world, before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3 On the final day of the tour you will enjoy a visit to the underground city of Derinkuyu and a walk through the amazing Ihlara Valley. Lunch will be served in the small village Belisırma. The tour finishes with a visit to the monasteries at Yaprakhisar and Selime, before boarding the evening night bus from Ürgüp to İstanbul.
