What to Expect

Join on a full-day tour to discover the remarkable history, architecture and culture of Istanbul, including the chance to step from one continent to the next as you cross the Bosphorus Bridge into Asia.

We will start the day with a trip to Istanbul’s historic city walls. The first breach of the walls occurred during the Fourth Crusade in 1204, the second by the cannons and troops of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror in 1453.

From there, we will drive by bus to the Golden Horn, at the city’s bustling heart. As a natural and extremely secure harbor, the Golden Horn has played an important role in the development of Istanbul.

This inlet separates the European shore into two. It is approximately 8 km (5 miles) long, and the widest part is the entrance from the Bosphorus. Two streams drain into this inlet at its far end.

Then, continue on to the city’s impressive Spice Bazaar. The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. Look around for a delicious snack, or find a bargain for a souvenir to bring home

Our next stop will be the harbor, where we will head off on a boat trip along the Bosphorus Strait. This amazing cruise takes you between two continents, Europe and Asia, along the Bosphorus, passing along the Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi Palaces, wooden villas and mansions up to the imposing Rumeli Fortress.

Following the cruise, we will stop for a local lunch before continuing on the second half of our tour.

Now is your chance to cross the famous Bosphorus Bridge, and cross from one continent to another. Once on the Asian side, explore the remarkable Beylerbeyi Palace, the summer residence of Ottoman Sultans, with its original furniture and magnificent gardens.

From there, we will head up Camlica Hill, one of the highest points in all of Istanbul. Once we reach the top, take a rest and admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul and the Bosphorus from the beautiful gardens as you sip on a drink in a cafeteria.

Finally, since Turkey is one of the best leather producing countries in the world, we will watch a fashion-show in an outlet center that produces and manufactures different kinds of top quality leather ware.

Take advantage of the excellent shopping, and have a look at the reasonably priced, high-quality leather accessories.

This tour also includes stops to check out many more of Istanbul’s historic and architectural landmarks, including the Ciragan Palace, Hotel Kempinski, Ortakoy Mosque, and the Military High School. Get the full experience Istanbul’s culture with a thorough and unique full-day sightseeing tour!
